Kerasia is a village and seat of the community of the same name in the Heraklion Municipality of Crete. It is located in the former province of Malevizio at an altitude of 340 meters, at a distance of 19 km southwest of Heraklion.
Its normal name is Kerassa (from the verb "to treat") which came from the habit of its inhabitants to treat strangers, even by force.
